Description
Tanzanite is the trade name for deep blue to blue-purple Zoisite that is found in only one location on the earth–the hills of Merelani, Tanzania. We heat-treat our own Tanzanite here in our office, after cutting the unheated natural rough. The heat treatment is permanent and stable; nearly 100% of all Tanzanite sold has been subject to this heat treatment. This gem is a beautiful royal blue color. This Tanzanite is nearly flawless; there appears to be no visible inclusions, even when examined with a 10x loupe.
This Tanzanite is faceted in the design “Cathedral” by Troy Richardson and cut to high precision; the result is a glittering beauty of a gemstone. The gem weighs 8.76 carats and measures 13.9 x 12.0 x 8.8 mm. This Tanzanite would make for a fine collector’s gemstone, or the centerpiece of an impressive piece of custom jewelry!
