Description
This beautiful unheated Montana sapphire is a gorgeous rich medium blue color with just a faint hint of violet secondary and very slight gray tone. The gem is 100 percent natural and untreated in any way. The sapphire has excellent clarity, making it bright and scintillating in the hand. There is a very slight amount of microscopic rutile silk in the gem, proof it has not undergone high-temperature heat treatment. Unheated natural blue Montana sapphires like this one are extremely rare, especially in such a large size. Each year we get only a few unheated gems of such quality, size and color.
This sapphire is faceted in our custom “Stella” brilliant square cushion design; the resulting gem is very bright and lively in the hand. It weighs 2.95 carats and measures 8.0 mm across the sides and 5.6 mm from table to culet.
This sapphire also has a GIA sapphire origin report included; the report number is 1236401025; a photo of the report is attached.
