Description
This exceptionally fine orange-pink morganite hails from Nigeria. The color is completely natural–this has not been heated like a lot of morganite you see for sale; heating would drive off the orange tones and yield a more pure pink color but I prefer this natural color. This level of saturation is very uncommon in morganite. The color actually shifts with the lighting, looking more orange under incandescent and some fluorescent lighting, and more pink in daylight and some LED and more blue-toned fluorescent lighting.
The gem is cut in a new design that I call “Jelly Bean” because the outline and rich color reminds me of a jelly bean candy. I created this design specifically for this piece of gem rough and this is the first gem ever cut in the design. Its a unique long rectangle-oval outline with a brilliant pavilion–difficult to achieve in a gem with this length-width ratio. The gem is very clean with just a few tiny inclusions tucked off in one corner that take some effort to see without a loupe–overall its nearly flawless. It measures 17.41 x 11.59 x 11.08 mm and weighs 14.15 carats.

Video Request
Although we do our best to take the highest quality images, sometimes it can be difficult to envision how it will look on your hand. We can take a video of up to four gems side by on the hand to help you compare them and see how they perform in daylight. Please provide the following information, and include the SKU numbers or links to the stones you would like to see a video of.
Please note that we don’t do 360-degree videos as colored gems are optimized to be viewed face up, and because the current technology is such that none of the 360-degree systems we have tested provides the accurate color. Our desire is to present the most honest and accurate color possible!
