Description
This untreated garnet is a pretty lilac-tinted baby pink. The garnet comes from a find outside Mahenge, Tanzania. These garnets are in very limited and diminishing supply and the prices for the rough have increased dramatically in recent years. They have outstanding brilliance and dispersion that gives them a beautiful fire in the hand. This garnet has very small inclusions that are quite difficult to see with the unaided eye from a normal viewing distance. The inclusions have been factored into the price, making this a great value for the size and color.
This garnet is faceted in our “Helena” brilliant oval design and cut to high precision; the result is a glittering beauty of a gemstone. The gem weighs 1.87 carats, and measures 7.9 x 6.6 x 5.0 mm.
