Description
This gorgeous heated Ceylon sapphire is beautiful bright cornflower blue color. The color was developed by heating the gem in Sri Lanka, but no other treatments were used. The treatment is permanent and stable and not only develops the color, but also improves the clarity. Sri Lanka (formerly called Ceylon) is famous for its gemstones, especially sapphires. The government has maintained regulation over mining to prevent large-scale environmentally destructive mining from occurring, encouraging small-scale artisanal mining. This sapphire was acquired directly from a mine owner in Sri Lanka and selected for maximum beauty and brilliance. This sapphire is nearly flawless; there appears to be no visible inclusions, even when examined with a 10x loupe.
The sapphire was originally cut in Sri Lanka but has been recut in the United States to improve the brilliance; it is faceted in a custom radiant rectangle design. The sapphire weighs 1.36 carats and measures 7.5 x 5.3 x 3.8 mm. It would make the perfect gem for a unique engagement ring!
This sapphire also has a GIA sapphire origin report included; the report number is 6214926814; a photo of the report is attached.

Video Request
Although we do our best to take the highest quality images, sometimes it can be difficult to envision how it will look on your hand. We can take a video of up to four gems side by on the hand to help you compare them and see how they perform in daylight. Please provide the following information, and include the SKU numbers or links to the stones you would like to see a video of.
Please note that we don’t do 360-degree videos as colored gems are optimized to be viewed face up, and because the current technology is such that none of the 360-degree systems we have tested provides the accurate color. Our desire is to present the most honest and accurate color possible!
